So this is what my workdesk looked like when I woke up this morning:
I sealed them with fixative, piled them up and then immediately started working on a canvas for my 50 Canvases video. I was sitting here typing this and checking for shiny on the canvas (to see if the gel medium was dry yet), and I thought this was a cool view, so this is what's on my workdesk right now:
The two most important things in this video: Tea and lipbalm. |

Thanks so much!
DeleteWow what brilliant creations those stars are ... Looking forward to seeing the canvases.
ReplyDeleteThank you! The canvas ran away with itself. One of THOSE days. lol!
DeleteFantastic concept! They're all great!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love the idea of painting on stars. What great subject matter too. Your Faces are unique and very special!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love those little wood shapes.
DeleteLove your post! I like the turquoise color of the ink. Have not seen that color before. Diane #111
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is really really pretty - it's Daler Rowney Pearlescent in Waterfall Green. It's sort of the perfect combination.
DeleteWhat a cool view of a very inspiring desk. I'm intrigued with your star girls (I might have to go brush up on my mythology)...and 29 faces. Oh my. I have a lot to learn when it comes to faces, so I really enjoy looking at yours. Color me another fan of lip balm - particuarly at this time of year. Hope the week ahead is a good one for you. ReplyDeleteThank you!! the 29 faces challenge is pretty awesome - I think they do it again in September, you should do it!
DeleteSo cute .... Love them!
ReplyDeletethank you! :D
DeleteHi sarah
ReplyDeleteyour faces are so cute and interesting to see that they are all different.
One question if I may .... doesn't the tea wash off the lip balm?
have a good week

Ps my little drawers come from poundland if you are in the uk
Thank you! ahahah yes, it's a vicious lipbalm/tea/lipbalm/tea/lipbalm/tea cycle.
DeleteI don't live in the UK, but thanks anyway! <3
Your faces are a very interesting approach to the challenge.
ReplyDeleteI'll take that as a compliment. ;)
DeleteTerrific desk shot! I spy a box painted by Sal atop a pink crate! And I just realized you can't even put your knees under there so you must have to sit at a difficult angle. Yikes! (Could that be the pain showing up in a couple of these faces?)
ReplyDeleteGreat faces! They are all so different and full of personality. (The one with the highest tip in the photo looks like she might have gotten into the cooking sherry.) :D
I love that Sal box :D It's a deceptive angle - I can put my knees under there :D
DeleteI think that lady is me, right now.. hahaah
I am so impressed you drew those faces :) love the view of your work space too.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are so fantastic!! Love them! Are you making them into ornaments or sticking them on a canvas?
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am probably going to string them all together into garland. :D
Deletethose would make perfect magnets on my fridge..muahahaaa....
ReplyDeleteI don't think I even have ROOM on my fridge for one off them.. lol!
DeleteOh my....this is really an artists desk isn't it. I love the stars, and the basis for them, how interesting and multi faceted your 29 will be! Oh and the lip balm...me too. Desk, purse, coat pocket, car, bathrooms........
ReplyDeleteThank you! Ugh, yeah this time of year is hell on the lips!
DeleteI like the idea of linking all the faces to Greek myth, and I shall look at the Pleiades differently in future and see them as girls with blonde hair hiding beneath the twinkling starry surface. Lovely pencil work, and I don't wonder it took so long to colour them at 5" size.
ReplyDeleteGood to see a desk and workspace that looks like mine - I always feel a twinge of guilt when I see clear tidy painting areas.
Thank you!! Tidy is totally overrated. ;)
Deletethese are so sweet! I really like them.
ReplyDeleteOh the stars are sooo beautiful. I love how the night sky cloaks them. Gorgeousness.
ReplyDeleteOh - I haven't got my weeks mixed up - this is me bringing up the rear for last week :P

I just love the expressions on all their faces, ha ha. And thanks for visiting my blog too. Happy PPF.
